Sprint Registration Opens for Daytona KartWeek 2026

Karts lined up on the grid at Daytona International Speedway during KartWeek.

Daytona KartWeek 2026 registration is officially open, inviting participants to the renowned Daytona International Speedway from December 27 to December 30. This occasion is set to be a highlight of the karting calendar, and competitors are encouraged to sign up early, as many classes filled up rapidly in the previous year.

Event Schedule and Key Dates

The four-day event kicks off with move-in day on December 27, allowing teams to set up their equipment. Following this, practice and qualifying sessions are scheduled for December 28, leading up to two days of intense racing on December 29 and 30.

To streamline the experience for participants, all Sprint entries will include essential race tires. Additionally, competitors in two-cycle classes will receive fuel as part of their registration package. This setup allows drivers to focus on their performance rather than logistical concerns.

Important Updates for Competitors

Daytona KartWeek 2026 will introduce several updates that participants should be aware of:

  • Class Rotation: Each race day, classes will rotate between morning and afternoon groups. These assignments are preliminary and may change.
  • Extra Qualifying Time: An additional 15-minute qualifying session will be available for drivers in both the 206 Senior #360 and #380 classes.
  • Driver Support: The WKA ensures no driver misses qualifying or racing due to scheduling conflicts. Competitors must inform the Race Director of any potential issues ahead of time.
  • Tire Regulations: VEGA Red tires will be mandatory for 206 classes, while MG Red tires will be used for Micro Swift, Mini Swift, KA Junior, and KA Senior categories.

New Class Introduction: 206 Featherweight #340

In an exciting development, the 206 Featherweight #340 class will debut at Daytona KartWeek 2026. This class will utilize VEGA Red tires, and both Junior and Senior drivers who meet the age requirements can participate. However, Senior National or Grand National Champions in any two-cycle or four-cycle competition are not eligible to compete in this class.

Additional restrictions apply for Junior and Senior crossovers, ensuring a fair competition environment for all participants.

Entry Limits and Registration

To maintain a competitive atmosphere, the WKA has set entry caps for various classes:

  • Cadet Classes: Maximum of 36 entries
  • Junior and Senior Classes: Maximum of 46 entries

Due to high demand in previous years, early registration is highly recommended to secure a spot on the grid.
